Located in a rural village in west central Ohio, we created a new fire station while renovating a portion of the existing fire station. The design included the addition of a 100-foot long, 4-bay apparatus room and connector area to house mechanical services. Other building program spaces include apparatus support spaces, storage mezzanine, exercise room, kitchen, dining and living areas, watchroom, administrative offices and a public meeting/training room. The building was designed with provisions for a future dormitory for 6 full-time personnel. In order to construct the project within budget, the 12,680 square foot building was designed with a combination of a pre-engineered steel building connected to a wood frame structure and the existing all-masonry building. We provided full design and construction administration services, including interior design and selection of furnishings.
